Congrats Tralee Parnells- All Ireland champs

U14 GIRLS

John Mitchels u14 girls travelled to Lewis Road the previous weekend to play Dr Crokes in Round 4 of the County league

With both teams unbeaten in this competition, it was always going to be a tough battle and so it proved, with Mitchels making the early running, but struggling to score before Crokes got an early goal and led for most of the first half.

Mitchels regrouped with Faye and Sadbh stiffening the full back line and Laoise and Nicole strong in the half back line and goals from Kerri and Ellie meant that the Tralee team were only down a point at the break.

The second half was low scoring, with defence on top, but going into the closing minutes Mitchels were a point to the good, only for a late Crokes goal to settle the outcome.

Disappointing on the night but it was a very evenly balanced game and congratulations to Dr Crokes.

Mitchels were due to play Legion at home on last Friday night but the weather proved to be too bad and both sides agreed to a postponement.

Training continues next week with notifications to be sent out to parents in relation to times and dates.

They arrived to an immaculate pitch which had kindly been prepared for them by Club Members.

Despite having four players away the girls started strongly in the first half with some excellent goals to find their rhythm.

The girls exhibited some excellent skills including some drills which have been worked on at training.

This continued in the Second Half with all 22 Girls playing their part towards a convincing win against a tough opposition.

The Girls were cheered on by a rousing crowd in the stand which only encouraged them to victory.
