Minors
Our u17s were playing Ballyduff at home Saturday in the semifinal of the club championship. We had a great start and playing some lovely football when our keeper Ben suffered an injury to the face.
He was off for 10mins trying to stop the blood fair play he came back on shows the fight and heart in the team. They had got 2 goals in the meantime. If we didn’t have bad luck, we would have no luck at but gave it all played great football just beaten by a few points in the finish heartbreaking. They did the club proud as usual.

Under 14 Girls
John Mitchels are heavily involved in the u15 Championship at the moment and last Tuesday night they secured a last gasp victory over Beale in the semi-final.
In what was a very tight game throughout against a team that Mitchels have played a number of times this season, it was a fantastic game to watch, and after falling behind for the first time in the game with only 2 mins left on the clock – it took a well worked goal with only seconds left to win the game.
The final, against our near neighbours Kerins O’Rahilly’s, takes place this Tuesday, in a venue yet to be decided. All support is welcome.
Our u13s also started their u13 County Championship on Friday night last and had a good win against Finuge St Senans, to advance to a semi-final against either Dr Crokes or Beale
Under 13 Boys
The U13 Green team travelled to Kileen to take on Na Gael tonight in the Central league Division 1 final.
We were without our captain Calvin through injury tonight, so the odds were stacked against us, but we were never going to give up.
We fell behind by two points early on and managed to kick the next three scores before a Na Gael goal pushed them back in front.
From there until late in the second half no more than a point separated the teams.
We ran out winners by the narrowest of margins and all credit to Na Gael for a ding ding battle.
Our Keeper Darragh’s kick outs were exceptional giving us a launch pad to attack and the vital saves were no surprise given his calibre.
Fionnan and Jay in both corners were ferocious in the tackle and fought for every ball, our full back and joint captain on the day Ryan Clifford was winning high ball, breaking out from the back, and delivering excellent ball into out full forward line.
The half back line of Donnacha, Rory and Eammon was absolutely impenetrable and set the standard for all around.
In midfield David and Brooklyn won ball, launched attacks and defended like lions giving the Na Gael midfield a night they’ll never forget.
Our half forward line of Fionn, Liam and Ahmed got through so much work that it almost made their opposition dizzy, they also assisted countless scores and forced their opponents into changes all over the pitch.
And last but not least out full forward line of Shane who was joint captain, Ronan and Eddie were incredible, winning high ball, stepping inside their men and taking points or assisting scores making them a forward line to fear.
Our subs on the day were excellent in encouraging and assisting on the line and without question made the win possible.
