Under 16 Girls

We welcome new comers & past players to come give it a try.

Under 14 Girls

Laune Rangers B U14 0-03

John Mitchels Gold 5-05

The John Mitchels Ladies U14 Gold team took to the field in Killorglin to face Laune Rangers in what was their first outing in this year’s county football league Div. 8.

Conditions were good in spite of the heavy rain over the past few days and again we were delighted to have such a large panel of dedicated girls to wear the green and gold.

It was a very tentative start to the game with both defences making some really impressive interceptions and scores were hard to come by early on.

Kelly and Caoimhe raised two white flags in quick succession and this seemed to clear what ever nerves were there.

By the 15th minute of the first half the girls had really clicked in to gear. Claudia and Tara were working tirelessly and provided some great balls in to the full forward line where Chloe, Ella and Dionne were beginning to turn the tide in our favour.

Our defence was outstanding with Hannah, Alannah, Nicole, Katelyn, Anna Marie and Ava, solid and working tirelessly for each other.

This made life really difficult for the girls from Killorglin and a well taken goal by Chloe just before the short whistle gave us a foothold in the game that we would not relinquish.

The second half began as the first ended with 2 quick goals from Caoimhe and Kelly and when Ella and Dionne raised two more green flags the game was ended as a contest. Grace was outstanding in her distribution again and we finished out the half with Aisling and Kayla continuing the solid defensive performance and Caoimhe L keeping the Laune Rangers defence on their toes.

We face St Pats Blennerville in our next county league Div. 8 match, at home this weekend – date and time TBA.

The Green team, fresh off their first round won, take on Austin Stacks B in Ballyseedy on Monday.

Massive thanks to Mairead Hurley from ABC Cleaning who presented our U14 Ladies Green and Gold teams with two brand new sets of Jerseys.

The Hurley family have always been great supporters of our juvenile teams and we are so appreciative of their support again this season. We encourage all members of the club to support ABC Cleaning.

Under 13 Boys

The U13 Gold team won, with an outstanding first half performance, against a much more physically imposing Killarney Legion team.

The young team finished four excellent goals and kept Legion to 2 points in the first half. We made lots of changes at half time, and Legion closed the gap, but we saw out the game and won the game.

The U13 Green team fell to an excellent Legion side who punished us with goals early on. The boys fought hard to stay in contention, but Legion kept the scoreboard ticking over as we narrowed the gap. Well done to Legion who were victorious on the evening.

Under 12 Girls

The girls arrived very enthusiastic for training Thursday night as the wind howled around the grounds of John Mitchels. The weather did not dampen their spirits as the team prepared for their upcoming fixtures. We welcomed Courtney to the team.
