UNDER 15 BOYS

With all competitions at u15 level complete for this season we still remain in the u14 competition which we qualified for in Caherslee a few weeks ago.

All the players involved that night need to train, we continue training for the u14 squad Wednesday evening at 6pm full attendance required.

With the mix of u13 and u15 players we have a really strong team and will give this u14 competition a good rattle

U14 GIRLS

Kerins O’Rahilly’s 2-7

John Mitchels 1-4

In the Tralee District League Shield Final, played in a wet and windy Ballyrickard pitch on Sunday, the home team had just too much scoring power for a determined John Mitchels u-14 team, who worked hard throughout, but had to give second best at the end.

This was a tough game from the start, with Kerins O’Rahilly’s off to a quick start and they managed some early scores as Mitchels struggled against the strong wind.

Slowly though they settled and with an early score from Lisa O’Shea, they went in 0-6 to 0-1 down, but had the benefit of the wind in the second half.

With the tough weather conditions, it was essential to bring on fresh legs early in the second half and despite conceding an early goal, a cracking goal from our own Kelly O’Sullivan pulled the lead back to a manageable gap.

However, Kerins O’Rahilly’s greater scoring power held, and they scored a late goal to take the title, but John Mitchels put in some great performances.

Many thanks to Kerins O’Rahilly’s for a great game and for the use of their pitch and to referee George O’Donnell for standing in on short notice.

Team:

Grace O’Regan, Gia Sharma, Sadhbh Corkery, Eabha Mullen, Katelyn Laide, Ava Sharma (Capt.), Nicole Hennig, Ellie Rahilly, Nadya Rivas McHugh, Amy Noonan, Bridget Stewart, Ellie Feehan-Reidy, Kerri Falvey, Lisa O’Shea, Ella McCannon.

Substitutes: Faye Moloney, Megan Noonan, Kelly O’Sullivan, Ella O’Brien, Rhianna O’Brien, Ciara Harris, Hannah Roche.

John Mitchels final game of the season is the North Kerry League Division 4 Shield Final, which takes place in John Mitchels pitch in Ballyseedy on Thursday next at 6.30pm.

Training will take place for the team on Tuesday from 6-7.

UNDER 13 BOYS

The Division 3 u13 Town League final was postponed on Sunday due to poor weather. We await a new date for the final. Training for the 13 B’s on a date to be confirmed.

U12 Girls

We will play the Tralee town league final against Na Gaeil on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.

The game will be played under lights at home in Ballyseedy and we are really looking forward to this game, which will be the final match for our U12s this season.

It’s been a season of constant improvement for the girls and the effort that they have given has been something special.

They are a credit to themselves, and their families and we are extremely lucky to have them wearing the green and gold jersey.

Hopefully we will get a big support to cheer on the girls, so please if you can make it on Wednesday evening, we would be very grateful if your support.

Congratulations also to all our U 12 girls who played in the Sylvie Mason Blitz. It was, as it always is, a special day for our club where we celebrate the future stars of the Mitchels club.

UNDER 11 BOYS

We held our annual Sylvie Mason Tournament this Sunday and what a fantastic occasion.

We had 4 teams of 7 captained by Fionan O Callaghan, Liam Corkery, Jay Mcclarnon and Riobaird Foley. We have 6 very competitive games with team Gary O Mahony captained by Liam Corkery coming on in top in a blanket finish.

Congrats to Liam and his team. senior team player Pat Kearney presented the trophy and medals to all the kids, well done to all boys and girls who participated in the blitz.

This was our last training session of the year, both our U10s and U11s will play in separate blitzes over the October bank holiday weekend.

U8/U10/GIRLS

We had fantastic numbers for our under 8s and 10s on a cold Sunday morning. 30 players in total.

The girls were directed into the dressing rooms on arrival where teams were chosen, and bibs given out to each team.

There were four teams in total Team John Dalton captained by Micéla, team Robert Dowd captained by Aideen, team Thorny O Shea captained by Millie, and Team Alan Conway captained by Caoimhe. The girls were bought out first for their team pictures and when all pictures were taken, they got straight into the parade led by Dan O Donoghue on the bagpipes.

The Cluxton was sounded for all teams to begin. The girls played outstanding football throughout and fun was defiantly had by everyone also.

The winning team in the end was Team Alan Conway captained by Caoimhe Kirwin. Well done to all the players you have been fantastic all year and a huge thanks to parents also.

We wish good luck to the many girls going up the ranks to U 12s for next season. Our season is now at an end and will see you all again next year.

UNDER 9 BOYS

John Mitchels U9 Boys competed in our own Annual Sylvie Mason Blitz on Sunday last. Our coaches picked 4 even team’s & after team photo’s we marched in our parade.

Each team played 3 games with fantastic skills defending & scoring from all teams. Special thanks to everyone who helped out on the day it wouldn’t be possible without you all.
